The rock the whole valley is named for.

Route 58 has curved past this granite profile for as long as anyone in Pennington Gap can remember — long enough that the mountain, the food mart, and now the inn all borrowed its name. We're a short drive from the trailhead, under new management, with a quieter, better-kept version of the motel that's stood here for years.

Clean, renovated rooms. Memory-foam beds. A pool that's actually open in summer. And a front desk that knows the area by heart.
